Sr. Billing Analyst

This position will be responsible for daily and monthly billing and remittance transactions for multiple natural gas and electricity utilities (US and Canada).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Maintain utility transaction work queues daily.
Reconcile billing activity to utility invoices.
Perform bill validation activities.
Interface with key functions including Customer Care, Finance, Compliance, Fulfillment and Pricing to ensure customer bills are processed timely and accurately.
Provide quick and accurate resolutions to escalated customer billing and payment disputes.
Track and report department key performance indicators related to billing performance and errors resolution.
Work within cross-functional teams to resolve billing errors and implement billing process improvements.
Analyze errors and trace them back to their root cause using the raw data in the database to implement systemic systems fixes rather than repetitive data fixes.
Perform all job functions within the established internal controls framework for the area, including the key controls identified for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Ensure that any known internal control problems/issues/concerns are identified and communicated on a timely basis to immediate supervisor.
Work with Senior Specialist on cross functional projects.
Perform other duties as assigned.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

3-5 years billing (or financial transaction) experience preferably in the Retail Energy market
At least 2 years billing experience in retail energy market required
Residential mass market or Commercial/Industrial customer portfolios
Experience conducting in depth analysis and research of complex customer billing solutions
Strong analytic and problem solving skills

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Manual intervention required
CRM / Billing application experience (examples: Siebel, Gentrak, Safari, SAP, Lodestar, ISTA, etc.)
MS Excel skills
MS Access and EDI skills are a plus
